The team at DCC International Property believe that the massive expansion of Malaga airport is really good news for those clever investors snapping up distressed, discounted, problematic and reposessed property bargains in the Marbella area!

To deal with the inevitable increase in visitors seeking bargain properties, DCC International Property have now launched the Bargain listing team.

Enquiries have substantially increased in 2010 and the investment rumour on the street is that tourism is expected to pick up throughout the year.

Luckily the swanky new terminal 3 is scheduled to open in time for the annual onslaught of tourists at Easter. Authorities are keen to avoid any Heathrow T-5 style complaints and a general ripped-off feeling through lost luggage, by paying 3000 ’guinea pigs’ to test facilities before the official opening.

DCC International Property is embracing this change, as recent insight into the Spanish airport plans report 86 check-in desks, 20 boarding gates, state-of-the-art computerised baggage systems (avoiding those complaints) and will also be able to handle 9,000 passengers an hour.

There is also good news for those wanting to shop, eat and relax. According to the Spanish airport authority Aena it is:

‘…an ambitious project that includes 24 shops and 21 catering establishments, as well as VIP lounges and other passenger services. This will make passengers’ waiting time at the airport much more pleasant and they will be able to find all the products and brands that, according to the preference surveys and market studies carried out, are currently most in demand’

Bargain Flights

Budget airline Ryanair have seized the opportunity to open a new hub in the airport, which will add to a total increase of 39 new routes.

This means more flights from more areas and can only be a positive thing for tourism in the region. DCC are delighted with Ryanair’s new venture because a spin-off from this will inevitably mean a higher demand for overseas property in Marbella.

Bargain Properties

DCC International Property believe that this will be a huge boost in the long term to overseas property values and will benefit those buying at bargain prices now!

At DCC they know that relying on the old multi-listing system does not work anymore. They have launched our dedicated Bargain listing team to find those limited vendors who need to sell quickly to overseas property investors and will reduce prices accordingly.

Be sure to register to be kept up to date with DCC’s Property of the Week! This week’s pick is for quality bargain apartments between Fuengirola and Marbella.

As most of us here travel frequently, we are awaiting the opening of the new terminal atMalaga Airport with bated breath. With 21 new food and drinks premises and 24 shops, it is set to be Spain’s best airport as far as food and shopping are concerned.

The expansion will mean that the current 10 million visitors a year could double to a whopping 20 million! This is sure to have massive implications for tourism on the Costa del Sol and owners of holiday rental properties will certainly be rubbing their hands together!

At present Brits make up 40% of all passengers travelling to and from Malaga and so special attention has been paid to our expectations. We will be able to shop ’til we drop at Adidas, Swarovski and Adolfo Dominguez, whilst enjoying a Starbucks coffee and perhaps a treat from Caviar House.
